Camp Family Travel
Shadow Jumpers and the United Porphyrias Association are pleased to reimburse families 100% of their reasonable travel expenses related to attending Sun Escape Weekend 2025.
“Reasonable Travel Expenses” is defined by the ordinary and necessary transportation, lodging, meals, taxis and ride shares related to your round-trip experience.

Reimbursement Procedure
Families will be provided with an online form Monday after camp has concluded where they can upload all their related travel expenses.
Families will have two weeks from that date to submit their expenses. Reimbursement for those expenses will be done electronically by Sun Escape in one total payment 7-14 days after receiving a family’s completed submission.
Families will be asked to provide their username and information to Venmo, Zelle, PayPal or Cash App accounts for reimbursement.
Sun Escape will not send physical check or money orders and families are encouraged to create an account via one of the applications listed above prior to the start camp if they don’t have one.
Airfare expenses must be submitted as a PDF (preferably of the email confirmation at the time of booking). Screenshots or broad confirmations will not be accepted, considered incomplete and you will be asked to resubmit.
The no Stress Travel Promise
Shadow Jumpers and the UPA want the Sun Escape experience to be an incredible one. If some aspects of our travel guidelines put an unnecessary burden on your family, one that could hinder you from coming to Sun Escape entirely, please reach out to us immediately.
While we can’t guarantee every request, we will do everything in our power to grant exceptions to our policy or early pre camp reimbursement for out-of-pocket airfare. We will work with you every step of the way
Pre Camp Hotel Accomodations
Camp families will be required to arrive to Victory Junction promptly at 5:00pm Thursday of camp. For certain groups, it may be easier to fly or drive to the Greensboro North Carolina area the night before.
In the event you need to arrive early, a hotel room at the Greensboro-High Point Marriott Hotel will be booked and provided for you (no out of pocket cost). Families are responsible for their own incidentals. Please let a team member know if you will need a hotel ASAP after confirming your travel plans.
Getting to and from Victory Junction
A bus will be provided to families who fly and arrive to the Greensboro area before Thursday at 4:00pm. The bus will depart from its location (located about 5 minutes from the Greensboro Airport) at 4:30pm.There will only be one bus and the ride is one way. Families should be in the hotel lobby and ready by 4:00pm .
A bus will be provided to Sun Escape Families who are flying out of Greensboro Airport Sunday May 4th after camp has concluded. That bus will depart from Victory Junction at approximately noon. There will only be one bus and the ride is one way.
